The ODM party leader Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga has intensified the hunt for Western supremacy for the ODM party with the party heavyweights landing in the hotbed of the party rebels Budalangi and Funyula.
It comes barely a month since the Bukalama declaration where the then ODM National Party vice chairman who doubles up as the Funyula Member of Parliament Dr. Paul Nyongesa Otuoma resigned from his duties as the vice president but maintained his full loyalty to the party membership, whereas the Budalangi MP whom since 2014 has held the position of the party secretary general threw away the gun with no bullets alleging disrespect to his position by junior members.
Raila after what he termed as a successful Vihiga county tour landed in Budalangi with a lot of anxiety with how he will be received by the party whose loyalty said BABA TOSHA in the last general elections.
Hon. Raila refuted claims that he had not done anything for the Luhya community the period he was the prime minister saying he had brought the main road from Bumala to Budalangi, he had ensured the Luhya leaders get ministerial posts in the government, he had given the plan for the construction of the Sigiri bridge and ensured the unity of the Luhya community.
Raila also said that he was ready to give a second thought and chance to the two main Budalangi and Funyula MPs to come back to the party and forge forward in the race to get the top most seat in the country as he said they were key to getting the Luhya voting as a block and to one presidential aspirant.
The governor Busia county took the chance to ask the party leader to grant him a chance be either the party Vice President or the Party secretary general that were initially held by the Funyula MP and Budalangi MP.
