Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has visited the family of former Assistant Minister Oduya Oprong who passed away while at the Kenyatta National Hospital on Saturday.
The ODM leader was received by the late Oprong’s sons Isaac and Jerry. He was in the company of Siaya Senator James Orengo, his Nairobi counterpart Johnson Sakaja and Makadara MP George Aladwa among others.
Isaac Oprong said the former PM brought his condolences and that of the Jaramogi family, he also indicated attending the burial of the Teso Independence hero.
Isaac said the Nairobi burial committee will meet on Wednesday at the All Saints Cathedral to determine the burial date.
Meanwhile, former Busia North Constituency MP Gabriel Emoto-Ebu has sent his condolences to the family of Oduya Oprong.
“I have received the news of the passing on of Hon George Fredrick Oduya Oprong, the first member of Parliament for Elgon West/Busia North Constituency and assistant minister for labour with grief. My family and I wish to send our condolences to his family, friends and the Iteso community in Kenya whose identity and recognition he fought for,” he said.
