Just three days after dismissing Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo as their coach Posta Rangers are set to unveil former Harambee Stars boss Stanley Okumbi.
The struggling side has settled on the Under-20 national team tactician to take over from Omollo who had overseen just one win from 11 FKF Premier League matches this season before he was sacked on Thursday along with his technical bench.
Okumbi, who is the current Kenya Under-20 coach, confirmed he has held talks with Rangers but added the final paperwork had yet to completed.
“It’s true we’re in talks with Rangers and everything will be done in the next two days hopefully then on Monday I’ll be ready to talk about what we agreed with my new employers. For now because it’s not yet done I will not reveal anything,” he said.
Okumbi who has been out of football since he resigned at Mathare United over four years ago for the national team job, will take over at the Ranger who have struggled to register positive results this season.
Under Omollo, Posta Rangers have only won once in their eleven league outings this season and they lie 13th in the top tier log on 10 points, 13 behind league leaders Tusker FC.
