Musingu School and Arch Bishop Njenga Girls are the 2023 Kakamega County Secondary School football champions.
Giant Musingu saw off Shanderema 2-1 in an exciting boy’s final match played at a fully parked Bukhungu Stadium.
Musingu earlier sent warning shots after knocking out former national champions Green Commandoes of Kakamega High School 5-4 in penalties in the semifinals as Shanderema saw off Lugusi 4-2.
Speaking after the win, Musingu High School coach Brendan Mwinamo said he defeated stubborn Shanderema boys through counters insisting that his opponents were more muscular than his boys adding that he applied mind game.
In football girls, Archbishop Njega Girls School won the championship after narrowly seeing off Butere Girls 1-0.
Volleyball boy’s giants Malava boys sent a strong warning to its opponents at the regional level after winning all its matches beating Mwitoti 3-0 at the final as to finalists prepare to represent Kakamega County at the regional level.
