The Registrar of Political Parties has issued a notice of intent to change the leadership of the Ford Kenya party, in accordance with Section 20(1)(c). In a gazette notice, the changes are the removal of Moses Wetangula as the party leader and Wafula Wamunyinyi as his replacement, and the removal of Chris Mandu Mandu as the National Organizing secretary, replaced by Josephine Maungu.
The changes are fronted by the team led by Tongaren MP David Eseli and Wamunyinyi. However, Senator Wetangula’s team presented their documents shortly after the notice was made public on Monday. According to the Registrar, a submission on the notice should be tabled within seven days, “A person with a written submission concerning the intended change by the political party shall within seven (7) days from the date herein deposit them with the Registrar of Political Parties,” read part of the notice.
