Bungoma Governor Kenneth Makelo Lusaka has urged the National Treasury to ensure timely disbursement of funds allocated to counties.

Speaking at the launch of the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) in Nakuru County, Lusaka lamented that delays in releasing funds hinder development and planning efforts at the county level.

“We are urging timely disbursement of funds so that the plans we have in the CIDP are implemented properly,” he said.

Lusaka emphasized the importance of collaboration between counties and the national government to ensure swift and coordinated development at the grassroots level.

He added that CIDPs provide a mechanism to overcome implementation hurdles and facilitate the creation of realistic project proposals that consider resource availability.

The event hosted by Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika was attended by Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, and Cabinet Secretary for Sports Ababu Namwamba, among other dignitaries.
