Her Excellency the First Lady Bungoma County, Caro Wangamati has today commissioned a completed water project in Kibisi location, Tongaren constituency that is set to benefit 5,000 households funded by a non-governmental organization in collaboration with the County government of Bungoma.
Addressing locals in Kibisi Location, the First Lady emphasized on the need for every citizen to have access to clean water and basic sanitation, among measures that would reduce the risk of contracting water borne diseases that result from poor sanitation among typhoid, cholera and others.
She however drummed up support for Governor Wycliffe Wangamati who is defending his seat on the DAP~K ticket, asking locals to support him and give him another opportunity to continue serving them promising to deliver quality services to the locals and come up with beneficial projects for the citizens if Bungoma.
The Project came amid the hardship and challenges locals were going through in Kibisi location resulting from scarcity of water that result from drought and walking for long distances to fetch water.
Jemimah Kaleji one of the employees at the organization who spoke to media, stated that the main aim of the project was to relief locals in Kibisi location who were suffering from the scarcity of water by enhancing access to clean drinking water and basic sanitation among ways that would reduce the outbreak of water borne diseases.
Kibisi residents, who have benefited from the project led by Linet Nyongesa, narrated the hardship of walking long distances in search for clean drinking water, appreciating the organization for coming up with the project that is set them.
