Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has got a temporary reprieve after Justice Antony Mrima ruled out, to allow the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to continue with the process of printing ballot papers as the case proceeds.
Justice Antony Mrima ruled that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to proceed with the process of printing ballot papers for Nairobi gubernatorial seat as the case proceeds.
A voter by the name Dennis Wahome, moved to court seeking order to force the Commission not to print the ballot papers for Nairobi gubernatorial seat until Sakaja’s case is determined.
Voter Antony Wahome added that the IEBC’s Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) cleared Sakaja to contest for the August polls yet the Senator is not qualified to vie for the seat as he lacks a degree.
Sakaja was said to have acquired a Bachelor of Science in Management from Uganda’s Team University, which is a forged certificate according to the complainant Dennis Wahome.
The case will be heard on Monday July, 4 2022.
