Residents of Bunein and Kaiboi villages in Tinderet constituency, Nandi County have received free coffee seedlings courtesy of the area MP Julius Melly. Addressing the residents during the disbursement exercise, Melly asked them to venture and focus on coffee farming.
He affirmed that agriculture, especially agribusiness is a source of income generation and for Kenya and urged residents to promote income generating ventures through initiation of agribusiness activities for cash crop farmers. He distributed over 10,000 coffee seedlings to more than 200 families in the region as Tinderet known as an area conducive for coffee farming.
He also urged them to join cooperative societies, being able to benefit more from government assistance as a result. Moreover, the MP called on farmers to embrace diversification.
