Regional commissioner for Rift valley George Natembeya has explained the occurrence of Corona pandemic as hindrance towards completion of Government projects claiming it has adversely affected to the funding of such projects within the county and region as a whole.
While on inspection tour of some projects initiated by the government including Lessos road, Center Kwanza and Kolongolo with the Bridge at Sabwani Bridge on the same road as well as Sibanga road Kaplamai and some government Technical college at Cherangany Sub County.
The Regional Commissioner noted that Corona pandemic has affected the Government budgetary allocations needed for government projects.
The 16 billion projects in the county of Transnzoia include roads, government projects like TTCS , Water projects as well as bridges initiated by the national government are not complete noting that they will present the issue to the government so that contractors are paid and continue with the projects so that they reach fruition.
He however defended contractors against blames of not finishing government projects on time claiming it was because of insufficient funding of contractors by the national government that has made several projects to stall promising to fund them in order for them to complete such projects in stipulated time.
He supported his inspection tour of government projects that was initiated as political claiming some leaders should just do their work and avoid poking their nose on his obligation of making sure several projects initiated by the government are complete.
“Some politicians are poking holes in my development tours am making within this county claiming am using the tour for political reasons that I want to become Governor of Transnzoia , I know how to market myself not these projects, who doesn’t know Natembeya”, said the
county commissioner.
