A group of robbers broke into Lugari Division Assistant County Commissioner’s office and the divisional registrar of persons office and made away with electronics Tuesday night.
Confirming the incident Lugari sub county police commander Bernard Ngungu said the robber broke into the two offices a few minutes past midnight where they stole two computers and two printers.
“They stole one computer and a printer from the ACC’s office and another computer from the registrar of persons office,” said Ngungu.
The gang also broke into a church at the Lugari trading center and stole plastic chairs which were later recovered abandoned near the two offices.
The police boss said no suspect has been arrested saying his officers have launched investigations into the incident aimed at apprehending the culprits.
However Ngungu has assured residents of putting up a police patrol base near the ACC’s office to help improve security at the Lugari township trading center and its environs.
He said the Administration Police camp which used to serve the area was closed during the merger of administration police and regular police and the officers were moved to Frank police station which is several kilometers away.
Ngungu has warned over rampant cases of burglary being witnessed in the area saying they will not be tolerated.
He said most incidents were happening at night when there’s rain promising to beef up patrols and ensure security of residents and their property.
