A gang of robbers broke into Lukhokho primary school in Matete sub county, Kakamega County and made away with property worth thousands of shillings.
Confirming the incident, Matete Sub County Police Commander (SCPC) Thomas Ototo said the robbers stole three laptops, two projectors, thirteen tablets, three laptop chargers and Kshs 765.
He said the school head teacher Mr. Pius Juma securely locked the ICT office on Tuesday evening and proceeded home at around 1700hrs before he discovered the office had broken into on Wednesday afternoon.
“The headteacher found the padlock to the ICT office had been cut and entry made into the said office by unknown suspects. The suspects went ahead and cut the padlock of the steel cupboard where they stole the electronics,” said Ototo.
The SCPC said his team has launched investigations into the incident appealing to members of the public to be on the lookout and if they come across any electronic with GOK logo to report to the nearest Police station.
