Robbery suspects nabbed by Kitale Police
Policemen in kitale have nabbed four suspects at Bosnia area of Liyabo in kwanza constituency believed to have been terrorizing residents of Transnzoia County for long.
The four who were nabbed include Richard Nyakundi alias Chot, Julita Nangekhe, Eric Abuga and Lydia Moraa who the police said were among the most wanted suspects that have been terrorizing peaceful residents of the county.
According to the chief for Milimani Location Sylvester Momanyi, the suspects have been involved in a series of lawlessness within the county targeting mostly residential areas including Milimani, Kibomet, Kapenguria and Eldoret.
He said the car that was nabbed with the suspects was amongst the most wanted cars that was being sought by security organs within the county as the car has been involved mostly in acts of insecurity and used by robbers in their unlawful acts.
He however appealed to the residents within the county to report any visitors that they suspect with questionable characters to security organs within the county so that immediate action is taken against such suspects as a way of preventing acts of lawlessness within the county.
He however thanked the area residents for giving security agents information which led to arrest of the suspects terming it as the best action that was done by the residents.
He called upon area wazee wa nyumba kumi to work in solidarity with village administrators as a way of trying to beef up security within their areas of jurisdiction which he said has been affected because there has been no good working relationships between the two.
“I call upon residents of this county to report some acts of lawlessness to security organs within the county for immediate action to be taken against them as security starts with an individual himself,” said chief Momanyi.
Some of the products that were nabbed believed to have been stolen by suspects include several electronics with some crude weapons that was used by the suspects in accomplishing their mission of thievery.
The arrest was also confirmed by Trans Nzoia County Commander Mrs. Lilian Okembo who said the suspect together with the car bearing number plates KBY 892S has been involved in a series of robberies and was most wanted by police who have been laying an ambush without success but finally it has been arrested with the suspects.
However locals of the area said they don’t know the suspects well as they have not been residing in the area and only got wind of information when they saw policemen cars arrive at the area and proceeded immediately to the home of the chief suspect and arrested them.
They say the suspect normally visits for some time and is not known and even the three suspects arrested by him are new in the area, thanking the police for the best work they did in arresting the suspects who they said were dangerous.
Residents said for the period they have stayed in the area they normally see the suspect from far with a variety of cars he keeps on changing whenever he visits the area terming him as a person who normally keeps to himself.
One of the residents Kepha Oyoti said he was just going about with his business when he saw some police cars arrive at the area he was forced to run away for his life because he thought the police were after him as he knew maybe they had camped in the area for search of illegal brews only to learn later that the policemen actually were after suspected robbers.
