President William Ruto has praised Deputy President Kithure Kindiki after he was sworn in as the third Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya under the new 2010 constitution.
Speaking at the KICC hall shortly after Kindiki was sworn in, Ruto said Kindiki has extensive experience in taking Kenya forward because he is a hardworking worker.
Ruto has asked Kindiki to uphold the oath of performance and the oath of loyalty without fear or favoritism.
Calling him Abra K, an abbreviation of Abraham Kindiki, Ruto has asked his Deputy to put the interests of all Kenyans first in his duties.
Ruto has asked ministers, MPs and ward representatives to serve all Kenyans who voted for the government and those who did not.
The president said that he was carrying the burden of his administration alone.
He revealed that he felt lonely for the two years he was in power, implying that his former deputy Rigathe Gachagua did not live up to the expectations.
Ruto went ahead to plead with his new Deputy to leverage his eloquence to communicate the government’s programmes to Kenyans.
The President described the historic event of the swearing-in ceremony as a sign of the maturity of Kenyan departments.
On his part, the third Deputy President under the 2010 constitution Professor Kithure Kindiki pledged to work hard in supporting the President and other organs of the government in realizing the vision of the government.
Kindiki said that he will serve under his boss President Ruto, promising to be loyal to his boss.
‘’I want to commit to you and before this congregation will and the Almighty God who is acknowledged in the constitution, that I will serve under you and provide you with the assistance and support you require to take this country to the next level.
The second in command said that Kenya is a land of possibilities, and that is why, having been born 62 years a remote home, it came to pass that he has been sworn in as the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya.
