Sabatia MP Alfred Agoi has appealed to Vihiga residents to vote for Amani National Congress (ANC) candidates in the area to strengthen Musalia Mudavadi’s position as the co-principal in NASA.
Agoi said the region which is perceived to be Musalia’s political bedrock should overwhelmingly vote for the ANC candidates to reinforce his position and bargaining power in the coalition.
“Mudavadi comes from this region and it will be better if he has solid support from his political base to spearhead our agenda in the NASA coalition,” said Agoi.
He pointed out that NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga enjoys massive support from his home turf and therefore Mudavadi should be given that political clout in his area.
“It will be embarrassing that the gubernatorial seat in this County and other seats go to another party yet Mudavadi is our point man in this region,” said Agoi.
He appealed to local leaders to drum up support for ANC candidates in the region and called for five-piece voting.
“We only support Raila Odinga as our flag bearer in NASA, but the remaining five seats of the Governor, Senator, MP, Woman representative and MCAs should go to ANC in the region,” said Agoi.
Agoi was speaking at Kivagala secondary school during Annual General Meeting in Sabatia Sub County where he officially opened a twin modern lab and computer room courtesy of National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
He said they will remain steadfast and focused as NASA fraternity in their campaigns and called on supporters from all political divides to embrace political tolerance.
