Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has defended ODM party leader Raila Odinga against accusations leveled against him that he intends to cause divisions in Ford Kenya and ANC parties. Ford Kenya and ANC leaders have faulted the ODM leader for allegedly causing the woes bedeviling the parties. Speaking on Monday when he launched a bursary distribution to needy families in Saboti constituency, Amisi advised leaders in the two parties to put their houses in order by solving their internal disputes and to stop pointing accusing fingers towards Raila.
The Saboti legislator noted that the Raila’s name is being tarnished for selfish gains by some politicians who he claimed have failed to overcome the storms in their parties and resorted to accusations and counter accusations of ODM leader without solving their disputes.
He called upon the leaders from Western region to address challenges facing them which stem from economical, political and social well being challenges and urged them to empower the region economically so that they bargain for bigger settings as a community. He wondered why Luhya leaders whenever they are faced by challenges heap the blame on Raila instead of solving their issues, adding that infighting in parties shows how the Luhya community is unprepared when it comes to political competition.
“Let our Luhya leaders make sure they unite our people by speaking in one voice, that alone will help the region economically and make it politically stable within the region,” said Amisi. He said leaders should embrace the ODM leader, “Our leaders need to embrace Raila Odinga instead of abusing him for he can provide a passage to State House or make their ways difficult.”
