Safaricom customers gathered at the Safaricom shop in Kakamega town on Friday as the basket of gifts Safaricom campaign took centre stage. A lucky customer, who had earlier purchased a phone at the shop, went home with a Neon Kicka smartphone following a draw that was held at the shop. Customers enjoyed a 45% discount on phones, and airtime offers at the top of every hour, and those who purchased the phones were also awarded airtime, t-shirts, caps among other gifts.

Emily Chitiabai, who purchased a Wiko Sunny for her daughter said that she opted for the Safaricom products because they are original. She said that she has previous experience with the products and they’ve never disappointed. “Their phones are original and when you buy once, you close that chapter, unlike buying from other dealers, where you have to buy again and again,” she said. her sentiment was echoed by James Ochami who opted for a Safaricom Neon Ray phone, citing that it’s battery lasts longer.

Another customer, Rose Khavere from Shianda, said she opted to buy a Tecno phone because of the price cut and the opportunity she had to utilize her Bonga points. She revealed that she has used very little cash to top up the Bonga points and obtain a good phone.

Safaricom staff James Kabata revealed that the festive season offer will be in place until 8th of January. He called upon residents to visit their shop and even other Safaricom dealer shops to enjoy the offer. He thanked West Media for the collaboration, revealing that the partnership has contributed a great deal to the huge sales.
