Safaricom has introduced a new feature for its customers, the ‘Reverse Call’ feature which enables customers to transfer call costs to the number they are calling. The caller will be able to transfer costs by dialling # before the number they are calling, for example, #07 **** ****.
The receiver will see the caller’s details on the screen and when they pick the call, they will receive a voice prompt asking them to key in “1” to accept the reverse call. The cost will be equivalent to the receiver’s normal call cost.
In the press release on Tuesday, Safaricom Chief Customer Officer Sylvia Mulinge said the communications company maintains its commitment to always provide for its customers with relevant priducts in line with their needs. “This innovation is in line with this commitment and has been tailored to mirrorthe relationships between our customers with a goal of empowering them to always remain connecetd with their loved ones,” she said.
The service isn’t available for off-net, roaming and international calls, and is only available for on-net calls.
