Lugari MP Ayub Savula has called for a ceasefire between the warring factions in the spiritless NASA coalition over recent remarks that were made by the ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, that the handshake was birthed due to blackmail.
Speaking in his constituency, Savula said Kenyans should not be pulled back to the handshake debate which may shake the country’s calm and peace that has stabilized the country’s business environment.
The ANC deputy party leader took issue with a section of Mudavadi’s advisers for advising him to go against the grain in the quest for peace and tranquility saying that such advisers will be sent away from the party.
The MP further took a swipe at ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna for his abusive labels he has been throwing around, spiting Mudavadi’s supporters.
He said Sifuna is a political dwarf who has never been elected on any seat and therefore incompetent to talk about political seniors in the country.
On the controversy surrounding the sharing of funds from the exchequer meant for political parties, Savula said the NASA coalition partners will seek redress from the courts if ODM fails to share out the Kshs 6 billion.
He said a sharing formula must be agreed upon to benefit all coalition partners who came together in the run-up to the 2017 general election.
