With heath reports indicating possibilities of another wave of the Coronavirus, Lugari MP Ayub Savula has promised to distribute face masks and sanitizers to all primary and secondary schools in his constituency as preventive measure to students and teachers.
Speaking during a development tour of his constituency, Savula disclosed that already masks and sanitizers worth Kshs. 2M have been procured through the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NGCDF) awaiting distribution.
He said all learners and teachers in both primary and secondary schools within the constituency will each receive a facemask and the school heads will be in charge of the sanitizers.
He at the same time appealed to residents to strictly continue observing the ministry of health guideline to prevent the spread of the killer virus.
“We have been warned that there’s possibility of another wave coming which might be worse than the first and second ones, so let us strictly adhere to ministry of health regulations to save our lives and that of our loved ones,” said Savula.
During the tour Savula assured Chekalini residents of construction of a national polytechnic in the area disclosing that the NGCDF was set to purchase 4 acre piece of land near Musembe trading center for the construction of the polytechnic.
At the same time he disclosed that the NGCDF had put aside Kshs 10m for the construction of a modern crossing on river Kipkarren to ease communication between Chekalini and Lugari wards.
