The Trans Nzoia Security Committee has stabilized security in the region and residents shouldn’t worry according to Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Sam Ojwang. This comes after police in the County killed a notorious thug on Tuesday, and two others managed to escape during operation. Speaking on Wednesday in Kitale, the County Commissioner said that officers had to take down the thug after the culprits opened fire, “When they were confronted by officers they started firing and police officers had to retaliate,” he noted.
He has urged residents not to worry and has issued a warning to the culprits who managed to escape, “The only option they have is to surrender to the police.” The Trans Nzoia Police Commander Ayub Ali has revealed that the people who are causing insecurity in the County come from other areas like Eldoret and that surveillance and monitoring have been improved, “We have enhanced our surveillance and those who are remaining have no luck,” he said. He added that one of the suspects who escaped sustained injuries and residents should be keen and report to police any suspicious sightings of suspects.
