West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio has vowed to do an aggressive oversight role on County funds and projects. He said that for the last two years he has been relaxed and it is now time to perform his role by over sighting development projects in the region.
Poghisio said that he is ready to protect devolution and ensure residents benefit from government services.
Speaking at Tamugh area, he called on the County leadership to wake up and ensure money coming to Counties is used prudently. “Elected leaders should not boast about being bosses and should be servants of people,” he said.
Poghiiyo said that Kenyans have a right to be given government services. The senator said he will not relent in the war against the theft of public resources until the County is swept clean of corruption.
He said the resources of the country can be sufficient for all generations only in the absence of theft. “The war against corruption, is a war we are undertaking with no joy, but one that will continue with no reluctance,” he added.
