Bungoma County Senator David Wakoli Wafula today demonstrated his commitment to public service by distributing food items to over one thousand widows from Musikoma Ward in Kanduyi Constituency. The outreach initiative, aimed at assisting vulnerable members of the community, was held at the office grounds of area Member of County Assembly (MCA) George Makari in Samoya village.
During the event, Senator Wakoli underscored the collaborative efforts of Bungoma County leaders with the national government. He announced that discussions are underway to secure dedicated funding for Bungoma Referral Hospital, specifically earmarked for the treatment of cancer patients. This crucial allocation aims to alleviate the burden of medical costs for those battling the disease within the county.
Addressing the current political landscape, Senator Wakoli affirmed that despite the challenges faced by the Kenya Kwanza government, they are committed to ensuring the completion of all development projects initiated by President William Ruto’s administration in Bungoma County.
Further highlighting his focus on economic empowerment, Senator Wakoli, who chairs the Agriculture Committee in the Senate, revealed his ongoing efforts to procure 20,000 coffee seedlings. These seedlings will be distributed to farmers across the county, a move expected to boost agricultural productivity and income generation for local communities.
Today’s distribution in Musikoma Ward is part of a broader outreach program. Senator Wakoli has already provided food aid to grassroots widows in Mukuyuni Ward (Kabuchai Constituency), Bukembe East Ward (Kanduyi Constituency), and Nalondo West Ward (Kabuchai Constituency). The initiative is set to continue tomorrow, with the next distribution scheduled for Khasoko Ward in Bumula Constituency.
