Several people injured as wedding turn chaotic in Likuyani

Scores of people were injured after a wedding ceremony at Mutave PAG church in Likuyani Sub County turned chaotic.

Fracas began after a drunk man entered the church riding a motorbike at a high speed and went straight to the altar as the wedding ceremony was underway attracting the attention of the congregation.

He was later joined by a team of fellow drunkards causing disorder inside the church, a move that angered the groom and the bridegroom’s family members, friends and other visitors who had attended the ceremony.

Some members of the congregation brazened out with drunkards turning the church into a fighting ground.

However those who were drunk were overpowered and thrown out of the church’s compound before the wedding ceremony resumed.

The incident left several people nursing injuries with blood stains scattered all over the church and despite police being informed of about it they took no action. The motive behind the ugly incident has not been established.
