48 youth and women groups in Angurai South Ward, Teso North Sub County, Busia County have so far benefited from close to 48 dairy cows. Speaking at Katakwa polytechnic grounds after presiding over the distribution of the cows to the beneficiaries, area member of the county assembly Grace Tata Olita reiterated the need for both the youth and women across the County to join groups if they are to benefit from many development projects from the County government.
“As leaders, we cannot help everyone individually thus the need for you to join different youth and women groups for you to benefit fully from such activities,”she said.
Mrs Olita, however, urged the community to shun politicians who are hellbent on politicizing every development project for their own selfish interests.
She advised the residents to adhere to the Ministry of Health’s directions on combating the dreaded Coronavirus. “Busia and more specifically Malaba has continued to witness a growing number of infections, mostly, emanating from truck drivers. Therefore you need to be more careful or else you’ll have yourself to blame,” she warned, adding that the County government has rolled out the distribution of face masks and sanitizers to Busia residents in a bid to reduce the spread of the virus.
