Dan Shikanda has been re-elected as AFC Leopards chairman during the club’s elections held at the Kasarani indoor area.
Shikanda garnered 429 while his arch rival Ronald Namai came second with 282 votes. Shikanda who has been at the helm of the club’s leadership since 2019 will seve a further three years term.
The secretary general position was clinched by Gilbert Andugu who bagged 433 votes. Robert Situma came second with 225 votes while Tommy Omusina came third with 42 votes.
Oliver Imbenzi will serve as the club’s treasurer as he was an unopposed candidate in the election conducted by the Centre for Multiparty Democracy. Imbenzi returns to the clubs administration after previously serving as treasurer.
Shikanda thanked the members for having faith in him.
“It was a difficult season as we were not allowed to watch matches owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.But you supported us throughout the difficult period,” Shikanda said.
Shikanda also thanked the players for giving their best to finish fifth in the league.
“As we start a new season, let’s join hands as we remember that AFC Leopards is the only institution that brings our people together.I want to assure members that we shall work hard to make sure the club goes back to where it belongs,” he added.
This election comes a few days after AFC Leopards secured a sponsorship deal with betting firm Spotika.
