Aspirants from Webuye West and Webuye East Sub Counties who have been cleared with Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to vie for Member of County Assembly seats have urged voters to maintain peace during the campaigning period and on the day of the election. Speaking at Webuye West IEBC offices in Bokoli after presenting his papers and cleared by the IEBC, Noah Muyundo, Independent candidate vying for Sitikho ward seat thanked Sitikho residents’ voters for standing with him and urged them to work with him up to Election Day.
“I would like to thank all Sitikho residents for standing with me and I know that you still believe in me and you will cast votes for me on 8th August 2017, therefore, let us work together towards regaining Sitikho’s glory,” said Muyundo.
He, however, told them not to be used by politicians to cause chaos something he said will lead to problems. He added that fighting amongst Sitikho people is a waste of time since after elections, Sitikho ward will only have one Member of County Assembly, he, therefore, told them to maintain peace during the campaign period, on Election Day and even after the elections.
“Don’t allow yourselves to be used by politicians who will cause problems, remember the law is clear if you will be found causing chaos that will lead to lack of peace you will be dealt with according to the law, therefore try as much as you can not to be the victim during this campaign period,” he added.

He told his political opponents to desist from using youths wrongly to gain political mileage instead campaign peacefully. “As politicians let us give our manifesto to people of Sitikho, let us not use the youth to move around with propaganda to tarnish the names of our opponents. For the youth, we know that these politicians will only use you to gain political mileage and for their political interests, therefore, be alert with such kind of politicians,” reiterated Muyundo.
Nominated MCA Martin Pepela also said that there is a need to have peace throughout this campaign period, these sentiments were also echoed by Juventine Kisaka who is eyeing Mihuu ward seat on Jubilee ticket.
“As Kenyans, we need to maintain peace, love and harmony during this campaign period as we prepare for the general election, let us embrace peace accordingly for the good of our nation,” said Wanyonyi.
Other candidates who were cleared included Bokoli MCA Jack Kawa, Martin Wasike, Caroline Lupao and Peter Waswa all eyeing Bokoli ward seat, Misikhu ward MCA Robert Mwembe, Miliah Masungo, Conrad Barasa, Aaron Masinde all eyeing Misikhu ward seat, Stephen Bilindi for Matulo ward among others.
