The Member of County Assembly for Soysambu/Mitua ward in Tongaren constituency Bungoma County Stephen Wafula Wamalwa has urged more fans from his ward to join the West Media fans who are in various groups for development of the area and boosting their economic status apart from improving their lives.

Speaking on his behalf, the MCA’s wife Eclyne Nasumba said the ward leader was willing to work with the groups so that to make sure there is a difference in his ward through empowerment of those groups.

“He will help each group with whatever they want to start doing, or any other investments the members are willing to do, he is very ready because he knows if his people are empowered then there will be more students who will join schools and continue with their learning without any problem,” she said.

She said the MCA was also willing to be the patron of the West Media groups in his ward so that he can monitor growth and help where achievable to make sure his people succeeds.

“He has really requested that he becomes your patron from today if you will allow him so that he becomes part of you as we prosper together,” she added.

West Media head of radio Nandemu Barasa called on the fans to embrace togetherness because it was the only way to deal with poverty in the area. He thanked them promising that west media will always stand with them as a way of appreciation.

“West media supports you fully, we support your leadership too, and know that everything you do we are always aware that is why we encourage togetherness in everything we do” said Nandemu.

The head of radio also urged fans to embrace education saying it is the only way to making the ends meet in future.  “Let us use these groups to take our children to school, that will make our people to eschew illiteracy,” he said.

Mumbo FM’s Sifumbukho Omusimisi and West FM’s Joan Wesakulila said respect was paramount in their groups and more so repecting their leaders and following proper channels before handling any issue.

The Umbrellas chairperson ‘Edu wa destiny’ called on members to work together so that they can transform the community they come from. They also requested on having offices in their respective places so that issues can be solved easily and the bond between them and the office of West Media be easy.
