Water cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa has urged leaders not to politicize the war on corruption that has deeply been rooted in the national and county governments.

Wamalwa has said that leader’s need to torn down on the current rhetoric’s as far as war on corruption is concerned because it has robbed off wananchi millions of shillings meant to better their lives.

Speaking on Sunday to journalists after attending a mass service at Misikhu Catholic Church that was accompanied by a funds drive to buy the church a bus, Wamalwa said that the finger pointing by leaders on political grounds is derailing the war on graft.

“Something apart from our traditional three enemies of diseases, poverty and hunger an enemy of corruption is another big threat that we must conquer and only if we do not politicize this war.” Said Wamalwa.

Wamalwa said that equally the war on terror must not be politicized in terms of security agents and organs because of its sensitivity nature.

“We are asking and appealing to all leaders weather elected appointed, nominated ordained and at any level to not politicize this war so that we can have  progress in containing it,” he said.

The CS noted that as a country we should have the same scale for anyone who is involved in corruption weather they belong to ones community, party, religion, tribe, or region affiliation we must not draw lines to succeed on this war.

‘’What we are currently seeing are cases of double standards when leaders shout at the top of their voices when a leader from the other party, religion, tribe or community and going completely mute when someone from their side is implicated in graft,’’ he said.

He said there should be no sacred cow in the fight on corruption as the presidents has declared that even those close to his administration who are corrupt must be dealt with according to the law without a particular community or party feeling humiliated.

The CS said that he has confidence that the new team of EACC if given an ample time with good political good will, will wipe out all corruption elements in the national and county governments.
