Motorists and households are set to dig deeper into their pockets for the next month after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced new fuel prices, in force from 15th November to 14th December. The prices of Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will increase by Kshs 2.54 per litre, Kshs 2.65 per litre and Kshs 2.98 per litre respectively in Nairobi. In accordance with the new prices, Super Petrol in Nairobi will be Kshs 110.59 per litre, Diesel will retail at Kshs 104.61 per litre while Kerosene at Kshs 104.06 per litre.
EPRA said the new prices are due to the average landed cost of Super Petrol from US$ 459.27 per cubic metre in September to US$ 463.24 per cubic metre in October, Diesel increasing from US$ 491.94 per cubic metre to US$ 502.15 per cubic metre, and Kerosene from US$ 486.55 per cubic metre to US$ 499.85 per cubic metre.
The prices in some major Western Kenya towns are as follows; In Kakamega, the price of Super Petrol will be Kshs 111.04 per litre, Diesel will be Kshs 105.27 per litre and Kerosene will be Kshs 104.73 per litre. In Bungoma Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 111.69, Diesel will retail at Kshs 105.93 and Kerosene will retail at Kshs 105.38 per litre. In Malaba, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 112.12 per litre, Diesel at Kshs 106.35 per litre, and Kerosene at Kshs 105.81. In Busia Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 112.18 per litre, Diesel will retail at Kshs 106.41 per litre, Kerosene will retail at Kshs 105.86.
In Kiminini Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 111.50, Diesel will retail at Kshs 105.73, and Kerosene will retail at Kshs 105.18 per litre. In Eldoret, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 110.98, Diesel will retail at Kshs 105.21 per litre, and Kerosene at Kshs 104.67. In Kitale, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 111.29, Diesel will retail at Kshs 105.53, while Kerosene will retail at Kshs 104.98. In Kapenguria, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 111.67, Diesel will retail at Kshs 105.89, Kerosene at Kshs 105.36.
