More than ten people are being detained at Harambee Police station in Kakamega County after being found to have stolen and slaughtered a cow behind the market shops.
The ten who are believed to have stolen the cow from Panyako area, Cholera Ward, Matungu Constituency in Kakamega County, were caught up by the police officers who were on patrol early Wednesday morning carrying out the heinous act.
According to the community policing committee chair Mr. Henry Onzee, the police found several pieces of equipment during the raid including motorcycles, laptops, and mobile phones among other devices. They are now asking the Ministry of Security to intervene, adding the area has had a lot of insecurity cases recently.”
Area residents echoed Onzee’s statement by saying most of them have incurred losses due to theft activities being carried out by young men who are believed to be residents of the area.
