Tension high in Lelmokwo after the murder of former Mosop MP’s son

Investigations are underway to nab all the culprits

Tension is high at Lelmokwo village in Itigo location, in Chesumei, Nandi County following the murder of the son of former Mosop MP the late Stanley Metto by thugs last night, around an hour past midnight, at his home. Confirming the incident, Chesumei OCPD Mr Bosita Omukolongolo said the deceased, Elly Kipkemei, was killed by thieves who broke into his house at around 1:00am last night and made away with household items of unknown value.

He said in the course of all this, a commotion and screaming was heard by the neighbours who rushed to the scene. They got hold of one thug while others escaped, and he was lynched by irate residents.

He said police officers have launched investigations into the incident and are currently searching for the rest of the criminals in partnership with the public. The late Stanley Metto’s other sons, two, had already died. Kipkemei’s body was taken to Racecourse hospital mortuary. The police boss has asked the public not to take the law into their hands and instead help in the probe.
