The 46th session of the council of foreign affairs Ministers is ongoing in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a meeting attended by ministers of foreign affairs from different countries of the African continent.
The outgoing Chairman of the African Union Commission, Musa Faki Mahamat, in his address said that he expects the leadership that will come in after the Saturday 15th elections to continue efforts to ensure peace in the continent.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary who is also Kenya’s foreign affairs CS Musalia Mudavadi is among the leaders attending the meeting of the Central Council of Foreign affairs ministers in Africa after he arrived Addis Ababa Ethiopia yesterday.
Mudavadi said in his address to the media that he will further appeal to the Presidents of various countries to support the Kenyan candidate for the post of African Union Commission Raila Odinga as the election is expected to be held on Saturday 5th February 2025.
The African Union has fifty-five member states that are expected to participate in the election, but the six countries of Burkina Faso, Gabon, Guinea, Mali, Niger and Sudan will not participate after their membership is suspended.
