The Kenya Kwanza campaigns entered the second day on Wednesday in Western region as Co-Principals urge the residents to vote in Deputy President Dr. William Somei Ruto as the fifth President of Kenya.
Addressing the residents of Bungoma County at Sirisia market the Kenya Kwanza Co-Principals Moses Masika Wetang’ula and Musalia Mudavadi pointed fingers at their opponents for the current dilapidated economy that has led Kenyans into hard life.
“Since ODM leader Raila Amollo Odinga entered into President Uhuru’s Government the Kenya’s economy has gone into a mess, now the poor can’t afford to buy petroleum products, fertilizer and other essential commodities,” said ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi.
Mudavadi says so many sectors in the country have been affected, pointing out coffee and tea farming as the most affected sector in agriculture, pushing farmers into loans as they struggle to survive in this harsh economy.
The Co-Principal who is also Bungoma County Senator Moses Wetang’ula pleaded with the residents to vote for Dr. William Ruto saying they will benefit a lot in his Government according to the agreement they made.
He added that Western region will get a 30 percent share in the Kenya Kwanza government if given an opportunity.
Wetang’ula said the Azimio-One Kenya formation seems to have ignored the Western region at large, arguing that Nyanza region has been given priority.
”I heard the other day Raila Odinga saying Nyanza region will get a share of three Cabinet Secretaries while Bungoma, Busia, and Vihiga Counties get nothing.” He said.
