The Deputy Head of Public Service Mr. Wanyama Musiambo has advised those who haven’t been counted in the ongoing census to get in touch with the content supervisors before the deadline.
Speaking in Kakamega County during an oversight exercise, Musiambo warned that the census will not be extended after the final day. “There has been enough time for the process and once it’s closed, then it will be done,” he said “Those expecting that it’ll be extended should move with speed to ensure that they are counted.”
He also affirmed that the government had a 100% counting target, covering all households countrywide, and that the target has almost been achieved as expected.
According to the Foreign Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary Ababu Namwamba, who visited the region to see the census progress two days ago, Kakamega County has achieved a 70% target in the exercise, which has gone on smoothly from day one. The exercise which commenced on 24th August, 2019 on Saturday, will end on 31st August.
