Another KCSE candidate gave birth in Lugari sub county, according to Lugari deputy county commissioner William Lenaremo. He said the candidate who is a day scholar at Munyuki mixed secondary school started experiencing labor pains during the weekend and she was taken to
Lumakanda County hospital by her parents where she safely gave birth
to a baby boy.

Lenaremo said the candidate who was later discharged from the hospital
on Sunday, managed to go to school on Monday morning to continue with her examinations where she did her Biology practical without any problem. “We are happy that she came out successfully and went ahead to sit
today’s examinations without any problem,” said Lenaremo.

However, the DCC regretted the sad case where a candidate of Lwanda Lugari secondary school died after giving birth through cesarean section at Lumakanda County hospital.

According to Lenaremo the deceased, Catherine Iminza, developed complications after a prolonged labor pain leading to her death. “We are really sorry for the loss of one of our KCSE candidate at Lwanda Lugari secondary school we send our heartfelt condolences to her family,” said Lenaremo.

So far three candidates in the sub county have given birth since the KCSE exams officially kicked off on 4th November, 2019.
