Three people were seriously injured following a road accident that involved a Nissan matatu and a lorry at Amusavi village in Mwamba sub location along Majengo-Njoroge road in Lugari Sub County.
Confirming the incident, Mwamba sub location assistant chief Edwin Nashirobe said the Friday evening accident occurred after the brakes of a lorry which was ferrying sand failed while descending the steep section of the road from Majengo.
The local administrator said the driver of the lorry lost control before ramming into the Nissan matatu that was in front heading the same direction.
The matatu conductor and one passenger as well as the owner of the sand that was being transported sustained serious injuries before they were rescued and rushed to Lumakanda county hospital.
