Three people including an administration police officer died on Wednesday morning in a road accident when a water boozer lost control and hit them near St Mary’s Girls Secondary School along Amukura-Machakus road in Teso South Sub County.
According to an eyewitness, it seems the water boozer developed mechanical problems which led to a failure of the brakes, thus making it difficult for the driver to control the vehicle on the sloppy road.
“The truck missed hitting me by a whisker as it has just passed by me when it knocked the boda boda rider and the person he was carrying,” Dennis Etyang who witnessed the accident said.
The area Chief Geoffrey Omoding confirmed the incident saying that the driver and the co-driver escaped with minor injuries.
Omoding said that bodies of the victims had been taken to Alupe Sub County Hospital using the Teso Sub County Ambulance.
The registration number of the water boozer involved in the road accident is KBD 033P. The terrain of the land and the sharp corner makes the place prone to road accidents.
