Police in Likuyani are holding in custody three men suspected of orchestrating several robbery activities in parts of Likuyani Sub County.
Confirming the incident, Namunyiri Sub Location Assistant Chief, Mrs. Caroline Vugutsa, said the suspects whose real identities were yet to be established are linked with disappearance of two bags of dried beans and ten litres of cooking oil from a house belonging to Mukonge PAG cleric.
“The three are also connected with the beastly act meted on a sentinel manning Ludodo Primary School where he was thoroughly beaten before being locked inside a classroom,” said Vugutsa, adding that the assailants then proceeded to the head teacher’s office where it was alleged they made away with about Ksh.1,900 in cash.
It was alleged that the robbers used a master key to access the head teacher’s office before stealing the cash.
According to the assistant chief, the watchman was found still locked inside the classroom by pupils the following morning.
However one of the pupils alleged to have heard the suspects plot the attack on the school in their hideout tipped the security organs leading to their arrest.
The suspects, who were rounded up, are at Matunda police station waiting to be arraigned in court once security organs conclude investigations into the matter.
