As KCSE Examinations kicked off countrywide on Monday morning, security has been beefed up in the County of Trans Nzoia. This has assured candidates, invigilators as well as other stakeholders a smooth environment for the rest of the examination period.
Addressing media when he led the exercise of opening the
examination container, Saboti Deputy County Commissioner Nicholas Kijuba noted that the exam period would be smooth, and that there were no cases of insecurity or malpractice so far witnessed in the County.
He disclosed that all the centers have been assigned two armed police officers according to Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) rules as well as making available a standby vehicle to make sure that in cases where a student falls ill, they are attended to without fail.
He added that all mechanisms have been put in place to ensure that any challenge a candidate may have are dealt with on time.
There are 216 secondary schools where the KCSE national exams are going on.
The starting of KCSE exams this morning has been characterized with good weather that has allowed smooth distribution of exam papers without disruption by rain and muddy roads.
Trans Nzoia County has registered 23,914 candidates sitting for KCSE examinations with boys totaling to 12,105 while girls 11,809. Those sitting for adult education accounts for 260 candidates.
