Parents in Nandi County have been urged to take up the responsibility of good parenting, especially in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. Speaking during a projects inspection tour in his constituency, Tinderet MP Julius Melly asked parents from across Nandi County to take up the charge seriously to ensure children are safe.
Melly lamented that many school going girls in Nandi are pregnant partially blaming the issue on lack of parenting on the side of parents. A research conducted recently revealed that over 3,000 young girls in Nandi have been impregnated. He said that the numbers are alarming and continue to rise every day. He said parents shouldn’t let their kids roam free and should prioritize their safety at all times.
