Tobacco is one of the crops grown in Kenya. It is believed by many people to have negative effect on the lives of many users.
Tobacco growing is done in many parts of Bungoma County apart from other external counties.
Despite the fact that it has some health effects on the users, it also has the positive side of it.
It is the source of income to many people and has helped many take their children to school and also accomplish many projects.
According to Moses Simiyu, a tobacco farmer from Bumula Sub-County, it has been of great benefit to him as most of his investments are the beneficiaries of the tobacco plant.
Simiyu advised farmers not to depend so much on cutting trees for the crop’s production but to employ other mechanisms of producing the “ready market” products from the crop.
