Tongaren Member of Parliament Dr. David Eseli Simiyu has condemned an incident that occurred on Saturday at Lunyu village Mbakalo ward at the funeral of the late Everlyne Nambuswa where CDF representative for Mbakalo ward Ndalukhavi Wanyonyi was injured by a group of youths alleged to be supporters of his opponent John Murumba Chikati.
Speaking to West FM, the Tongaren legislator was saddened by the incident urging locals to distance themselves from divisive politics that would not add value to the residents in Tongaren who are languishing in poverty among other problems.

Dr. Eseli asked fellow competitors to embrace peace during this campaign season and rather come up with beneficial projects that would be of help to the locals and preach peace as the nation looks forward to the August 9th General Elections.
One time Secretary Strategy and Delivery Unit in the Office of the Deputy President John Murumba Chikati who is eyeing the Tongaren seat was saddened by the incident, calling upon his supporters and those of the sitting MP to embrace peace during campaign season and even after the General Elections.
