Tongaren Constituency legislature Dr. Eseli Simiyu has asked politicians especially his opponents to stop propagating lies on projects touching schools and education of children.

Addressing parents, teachers and community of Musembe Friends Secondary School when he was giving the school a bus purchased by Tongaren Constituency CDF in conjunction with parents of the school, he said his opponents visited the school with the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto sometimes back and contributed 2.5m shillings to aid the school get a school bus but since the money wasn’t enough Dr. Eseli advised the school management to bank the money as he finds a way of topping up to get the bus but his opponents including Dr. Chikati Murumba and Bungoma County Woman Rep Hon. Catherine Wambilianga have been peddling lies that the principal Mrs. Catherine Situma and the management of the school have swindled the cash donations contributed by the Deputy President.

He says he advised the board to bank the money because the school by then had challenges of infrastructure and he had to deal with it before finding ways of getting the school bus as he had promised adding that it was hard for parents to get the balance of seven million to add to get the bus.

“My opponents have ganged up with the Bungoma County Woman Rep Hon. Catherine Wambilianga to fight the principal of the school who is very hardworking whom I have had a privilege of working with while she was at Mitua girls and all of you especially parents of this school can attest that she has really given it all and made this school great and I thank God that naysayers will have nothing to say after I have brought the bus but I know their plan was not paint a bad image of the principal Mrs. Catherine Situma so that she can be chased out of this school and bring down the good performance of the school that is now doing well, kindly let is detest from politicizing education projects, this is not fair at all, ” said Dr. Eseli.

He asked his opponents that if they have issues with him let them tackle him and leave education of innocent children out of politics.

“Let us have issue based politics and not this cheap propaganda that we are experiencing in Tongaren Constituency every now and then, the 2.5m was safely kept and as CDF we added 7m and purchased the bus which cost 9.5m shillings in total and therefore where’s the money that was squandered by the principal as is being said by my perceived opponents? They should stop this because it won’t give them any political mileage and I will beat them hands down come August polls,” he said confidently

He said he has done a lot for Kibisi location because 15 years ago the location had only one secondary school and that was Kibisi secondary school but at the moment the location boasts of having five secondary schools among them Lunyu, Namawanga RPC, Nabiswa and Musembe secondary school and affirmed that education is his priority.

He has called on parents to be on watch out for some politicians who want to destroy the education of their children.

The school principal Mrs. Catherine Situma thanked everyone who made the bus issue success and lauded the good gesture of the area MP Dr. Eseli Simiyu for additional funds that made it to get the bus plus the infrastructure the CDF had put up in school and promised to work hard and better the results that has been scaling up every year.

“Our MP and other stakeholders have done their part and the remaining is ours as a school and we promise to continue pushing for better results by making sure we complete our syllabus on time and revise as much as we can and therefore we ask parents for their total support to achieve this,” said Mrs. Situma.
