With regard to the recent incident when three Venezuelans were arrested with IEBC materials at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Tongaren Member of Parliament Dr. David Eseli Simiyu has expressed fear with regard to the manner in which the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC is proceeding with preparations of the upcoming August 9th General Election citing that the Commission may not deliver a credible election.
Addressing University students and locals in Mbakalo and Milima wards, the retired military major expressed fear with regard to the manner in which the country’s electoral commission is carrying out the preparations of the upcoming August 9th General Elections, citing that IEBC is likely to deliver incredible elections.
He has however called upon Kenyans to be keen during the upcoming General Elections and ensure they are provided with ballot papers that have security features on the material day in order to avoid spoiled ballots. The Tongaren legislator has called upon locals to distance themselves with dirty politics that would have a positive impact on their lives.
Dr. Eseli further asked Bungoma Senator and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula to stop engaging in Tongaren politics, emphasizing on the need for the locals to be given an opportunity to vote in a leader of their choice, one who is focused to prioritize the challenges common citizens go through and offer long term solutions.
He asked the people of Tongaren to give him another chance to serve them, promising to come up with beneficial projects that would be of great importance to the locals, urging them to distance themselves from divisive politics that would not offer solutions to the challenges common citizens go through.
