In the quest to grant every child in the society access to basic and quality education, Tongaren Member of Parlianent Dr. John Murumba Chikati has assured parents across his constituency that he will pay fees for all the needy grade six and class eight pupils who will be sitting for their national examinations to join secondary schools.
Speaking during the grand opening of classrooms and staffroom constructed in collaboration with the National Government NG-CDF and Hongera Kenya Foundation and the community at Lusokho Primary School, Chikati assured parents that he will pay fees for the needy students who will soon be joining secondary schools.
The area MP has promised to give education sector a priority by ensuring every child has access to quality education and be of importance to the society by supporting every aspect ranging from construction of classrooms and ensuring that education facilities have enough teachers from TSC.
With 41 primary schools in Tongaren still under mud walled, Dr. Chikati promised that within the next five years he will eliminate them and create conducive environment to learning facilities, among measures that would boost performance.
Sponsors from Holland and Germany in collaboration with Hongera Kenya Foubdation urged teachers and pupils of Lusokho primary school to make good use of the modern classrooms to boost their academic performance.
Mary Barasa, the head teacher ,Lusokho primary appreciated the efforts by Hongera Kenya Foundation,NG-CDF and sponsors from Holland and Germany promising to work even harder to yield good results and make the future of the very pupils bright.
The Mbakalo ward Member of Bungoma County Assembly Benard Kikechi promised that in collaboration with Governor Kenneth Lusaka he will ensure all primary schools in his ward has well-built and modern ECDE classrooms to enable the children access basic and quality education.
