The top pupil in Vihiga County scored 441 marks in last year’s KCPE Examination. Margaret Amwai 14, a pupil from Mululu Primary School in Sabatia Sub County has been an excellent performer in her class.
When the West Fm visited her in their home at Tigoi in Hamisi Sub County she was surprised she topped in the County.
She said she has been working hard on her studies and she anticipated posting good results in the final exams.

“I actually worked hard in my studies and with the help of teachers and the support from my parents I managed to perform well and am surprised I come first in the County” She said.
Margaret expressed her desire to join Alliance Girls High School to accomplish her dream of becoming a pediatrician.
Her Father Mr. Marines Omwoke a High School teacher in the County said his daughter has always been a good performer and he knew she will do well in her examination.
“Am not surprised, I knew all along these little one will put these family on the map and we are proud of her” Amwoke said.
The same sentiments were echoed by Mrs. Beatrice Amwoke her mother who said they are ready to support their daughter to help her realize her dreams.
Mr. Eboso Kihima the Head teacher at the School said 181 pupils sat for the exam and more than 17 scored above 400 marks.
“Teachers at this School have always gone out of their way to help these pupils and we have continued to reap big when students perform well” He said.
He said the scrapping of ranking of School cannot affect those schools that are determined to perform well but can only affect those that depended on it for their selfish gains.
