The Trans Nzoia County assembly has been closed for two weeks, following 2 Covid-19 positive tests in the assembly. In a memo dated 19th October, the Trans Nzoia County assembly clerk said the decision to close the assembly was effected by the Covid-19 tests and an advisory from the County public health department, with all staff to go on a compulsory leave of 14 days.
All activities at assembly have therefore been suspended, from 19th October onwards, “We shall however as much as possible endeavor to offer other virtual services to mwananchi,” read part of the memo. Assembly staff have been urged to exercise necessary caution and keep all the Health Ministry Covid-19 infection prevention directives.
