Governor George Natembeya has been inaugurated as Trans Nzoia County Governor at a function presided over by presiding Judge for Busia Joseph Karanja assisted by high Court chief Justice Julius Ng’arNg’ar.
The instruments of power were issued to the Governor appealing to him to improve the living standards of Trans Nzoia County residents as well as ensure he weeds out corrupt individuals as well as cartels in his administration that he said adversely affected his job blaming former elected MPs for what he termed were a big problem to his administration who didn’t take part in development projects of the County but disturbed him.
Governor Natembeya appealed to all elected leaders as well as those who were not elected to work together in improving the living standards of residents within the County.
He appreciated locals for entrusting in him by electing him as the second Governor of the County promising them to tirelessly work in improving their living standards.
He called upon all residents to continue residing in harmony within the County by respecting all the interests of every individual within the County and avoid being divided by leaders calling upon them to remain calm as they wait for Supreme Court ruling between the President elect Dr. Wiliam Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga
Leaders present were Cabinet Secretary for Defense Eugene Wamalwa, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, Kiminini MP elect Kakai Bisau, Kwanza MP Ferdinand Wanyonyi, Endebess MP Dr. Robert Pukose, former Kanduyi MP also party leader of DAP-K Wafula Wamunyinyi, County Commissioner Sam Ojwang, elected MCAs among other leaders.
Cabinet Secretary for Defense Eugene Wamalwa, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, Senator Elect Allan Chesang, Woman Rep elect Lilian Siyoi, Kiminini MP elect Kakai Bisau who all appealed to Governor elect to work with all the leaders in improving their livelihoods of its residents.
CS Eugene presented the personal congratulatory message to Natembeya from Azimio leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta he called upon Governor Natembeya not to neglect some development projects initiated by former Governor Patrick Khaemba including completion of Referral hospital, the Market and stadium.
He called upon all incoming Governors to fight corruption that has taken root within several Counties and issued executive order to all County Government reinforcement officers to stop harassing businessmen in the County and instead guide locals to access executive offices for those who don’t understand their offices.
