Transport along the Olessos-Kapsabet road in Emgwen constituency in Nandi County was paralysed for hours on Monday after the residents at Arwos area in Kilibwoni ward barricaded the road protesting the rising cases of insecurity in the area. This follows an attack on Sunday night on one of petrol station attendants at Arwos trading center by a gang of unknown assailants which prompted the public to barricade the road protesting the insecurity cases in the region which have caused them sleepless nights.
They cited that people in the area have been attacked several times by gangsters as early as 7 PM in the evening, and they’ve demanded the security agencies to be carrying out patrols in the area. They have appealed to the County government of Nandi to consider installing street lights along the Arwos trading centre.
The incident happened merely two weeks after gangsters infiltrated a business premises, parting with millions of shillings.
